Skyland East Self Storage is located just one mile off exit 76 on I 20/59 in Cottondale, Alabama and is only a 10-minute drive from the University of Alabama. Students are welcome.

DO YOU OFFER CLIMATE-CONTROL UNITS?

We do offer temperature-controlled storage units. These units help protect your items from intense temperatures and humidity. We recommend climate-controlled units for anything that cannot be stored in a garage.

HOW DO I RENT A UNIT?

Rent a storage unit online within minutes or in person at our Cottondale office during hours.

WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO RENT A UNIT?

A valid form of government-issued ID such as a driver's license or state ID.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO RENT A STORAGE UNIT?

We offer month-to-month leases, meaning there are no long-term contracts and no commitment.

WHAT SIZE STORAGE UNIT DO I NEED?

WHAT ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN STORAGE?

Storage of flammable, explosive, toxic, noxious, odorous, or other dangerous materials is strictly prohibited from inside storage units. Perishables, plants, high-value items, firearms, illegal substances, and stolen goods are not permitted. Gas-powered items are not allowed inside storage units.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE MY OWN LOCK?

You provide your own lock and key so that you are the only one with access to your storage unit. We sell high-quality locks for your convenience.

HOW MUCH NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN BEFORE I CAN MOVE OUT?

It is the responsibility of the tenant to notify the facility upon vacating the unit, failure to do so may result in future charges.

WHAT IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE FEE?

An administrative fee or "admin fee," is a one-time fee charged at the time of move-in. This is a very common fee in the storage industry used to offset the costs of setting up your tenant account and processing the move-in documents. The admin fee is $15 and replaces a security deposit charge.

HOW CAN I MAKE A PAYMENT?

Payments can be made by mail, in person, or through our website. You may also arrange to have your payment automatically applied to your account through your credit or debit card. Please ask your manager about this feature.

DO I NEED TENANT INSURANCE?

We do not insure the contents of the unit whatsoever, we highly recommend that you make sure your property is properly insured. We suggest you carry your own insurance (check your homeowner's or renter's policy to see if you are already covered).
